Gendarmerie and Cinema Museum
After being beautifully reconstructed for more than 18 months, the former Police Station with a world widely known reputation will be reopened to the public at the end of June 2016.
Became famous after having served as the backdrop to the first five movies of the saga “The Troops of Saint-Tropez”, it hosted the filming of the adventures of the iconic “Ludovic Cruchot” starring by Louis de Funès and “Adjutant Gerber “played by the great Michel Galabru.
The new museum space will be created in the former Police Station – Square of Blanqui – which originally hosted the troops of Saint-Tropez from 1879 to 2003. It is a perfect opportunity for visitors to come back on the trail of famous troop and the cinema history of a little Saint Tropez harbor.
It will be possible to relive the history of the 7th Art in Saint-Tropez due to a 800 square meters building with two completely renovated exhibition floors. Besides Louis de Funès the city gave birth to many talents such as Brigitte Bardot or Romy Schneider and many other rising legends of 7th Art.
