Christmas 2015 in Saint-Tropez
Christmas lights starting signal
On Friday December 4th, the city of Saint-Tropez has made a date with you in Place des Lices to switch on Christmas lights, under the theme ‘Polar White’. Tropezians have eagerly awaited this moment, when all the village, friends and passing visitors get dressed up in their most beautiful luminous finery.
Once again, there will be plenty of fun things to do: the traditional skating rink will be ready to welcome young and old in a polar atmosphere where igloos, penguins and fir forests will add the perfect finishing touch to this magical setting. You can also count on the climbing wall and the luge track which will be set up in the Place des Lices, but in addition there will be Father Christmas’ workshop and his moving automations for lists and last minute presents.
As for Father Christmas’ famous little train, it will resume its incessant musical ballet through the village streets. A little bird told us that it could even carry our dear Santa on Christmas Eve.
It’s the tradition after all. And since in Saint Tropez, the magic of Christmas is necessarily closely linked to the sea, Father Christmas will relinquish his reindeer and sleigh for a sail in on his boat. This arrival, close to the heart of the Tropezians, will take place to music and lights on December 24th at 6pm on the Harbour – Quai du Bailli.
To round off the year in style, on December 31st at noon, local residents and lovers of the village will be invited to taste a huge anchoïade on the harbour. This unmissable event will celebrate last 2015 moments, giving way to fireworks at midnight: the symbol of the New Year, which we hope is full of promise.
Noreve and all his team would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
